How do I make tiramisu

So, I would like to ask you how to make tiramisu. I make a tiramisu with mascarpone cheese and cream (coffee, vanilla, no eggs, etc.). The problem is that the final mix is very stiff and not soft and airy like the traditional tiramisu, so can you show me the way to treat this mix in order to be airy and refreshing?
