Cooking pasta in stock?

by Chris
(New-Brunswick, Canada)

Hi Chef,

Throughout your video series, you’ve recommended cooking rice, meats, etc. in broths to add flavors since water is flavorless. Will cooking pasta in a broth or flavored liquid add flavor to the pasta? I was thinking of making stocks (lobster, shrimp and fish) to cook pasta and rice in.

Chris

Chef Todd Says:
Yes, anytime you can add additional flavor, it's a benefit. Cooking Lobster Ravioli in a shrimp broth would be an excellent idea.

Chef Todd.
