Breakfast Ravioli

by Ryan
(Germany)

I've been thinking about using scrambled eggs and bacon and cream cheese to fill wonton wrappers, creating breakfast ravioli.

For a sauce, I would have to choose a good homemade hollandaise! There is the chance that this could be a little strange but on the other hand it could be amazing and I'm going to take the chance and find out!

Chef Todd Says:
I love the idea! Now, that's creative!

You're not as crazy as you think. Crab Rangoon is an Asian dish of crab and cream cheese in wonton wrappers that are deep-fried. Your egg, bacon and cheese in wonton sounds like a great innovation.

If you added chicken, you'd have "mother and child reunion", chicken and eggs.

Bravo, Ryan! Cooking creativity award of the day.

Chef Todd.

Turned out great
by: Ryan

My wife and I decided to try some last night. We did some up with a sausage mixture and some with a bacon mixture. We also fried them using a milk and breadcrumb combination. The kids loved them. The sausage was good, due to so much meat filling. The bacon filling contained more egg. We are going to substitute our next batch with ham...see if we can get a more filling ravioli. Thats the way to do it...Think outside the box. Only limited by our imaginations.
